One arrested with using fake number plate
Chandigarh Police arrested Amit R/o # 2173-A, Sec. 24 Chandigarh (age 35 years) while he was using fake Registration No. CH-49(T)-1354, on motorcycle which’s original No. CH-03V-5268 from Rally Ground Main Road, Sector 25 Chandigarh on 05-08-2023. In this regard, a case FIR No. 134, U/S 473, 411 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Two arrested for consuming liquor at public place
Chandigarh Police arrested Rajnesh Kumar R/o # 61, New Darshani Bagh Manimajra, Chandigarh (age-40 years) while he was consuming liquor at a public place near Motor Mkt. Darshani Bagh, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 05.08.2023. A case FIR No. 88 U/s 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. He was later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Chandigarh Police arrested Karam Chand R/o # 2238, New Indira Colony Manimajra Chandigarh (age-44 years) while he was consuming liquor at a public place near wine shop, Motor Market, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 05.08.2023. A case FIR No. 89 U/s 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. He was later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Action against Gambling/satta
Chandigarh Police arrested Ashok @ Sunny R/o # 1125, DBC Sector 25, Chandigarh (age-26 years), while he was playing satta near Motor Market, DMC, Chandigarh on 05.08.2023. Total cash Rs. 10200/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 92, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Newborn Found
A case FIR No. 122, U/S 317 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh against unknown parents of an about 5-6 months old boy child who was found abandoned near booth no. 39, Small Market Sector 32, Chandigarh on 05-08-2023. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Cheating
A case FIR No. 123, U/S 406,420, 120B IPC and 24 Immigration Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Kuljit Singh Baidwan R/o VPO. Kumbra, Distt. Mohali (Pb) (age-40 years) who alleged that Gurpreet Singh Randhawa, Virendra Singh and others Office of Blue Sapphire Consultant, SCO No. 58-59, Ground Floor, Sector. 34-A Chandigarh, they taken approx Rs.21,50,000/- from complainant to arrange work visa of abroad i.e. Cananda but they neither arrange the visa nor refund the amount to the complainant. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 52, U/S 279, 337 IPC & 185 MV Act has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh on the complaint of Gauravdeep Singh R/o # 2032-A, Sector. 63, Chandigarh (age 39 years), who alleged that Deepanshu R/o # 2285-B, Block 33, Sec. 63 Chandigarh (age 24 years) driver of black Cruze car no. PB-09Y-0008 which hit to complainant’s XUV700 car no. not disclosed near tribune Society, Sec-50 Chandigarh on 03-08-2023. Four passengers of XUV 700 car got injured and admitted in GMCH-32 and alleged person also got injured and admitted in PGI. Investigation of the case is in progress.
