Seven persons arrested for consuming liquor at public place

Seven different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC have been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh against seven persons who were arrested while consuming liquor and creating nuisance at public places on 09.092023. Later they were released on bail.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Ravi Kumar R/o # 6 Village Dhanas Chandigarh (age-30 yrs) while he was playing gambling from back side Gupta Marble Dhanas Chandigarh on 09-09-2023. Total cash Rs. 10,500/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 87, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Distt. Crime Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Neeraj Thakur R/o # 77 Gali No. 4, Sheetal Nagar Behlolpur SAS Nagar Mohali (Pb) (age-34 yrs) while he was playing gambling from near Dhanas Light Point on 09-09-2023. Total cash Rs. 20,060/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 88, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

Ram Lal Arora resident of Chandigarh alleged that her son-in-law resident of Distt. Kaithal (Hry) harassed the complainant’s daughter to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 55, U/S 406, 498A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

Bholla R/o # 798, 2ND Floor, Village Burail, Chandigarh (age 24 yrs), reported that unknown motor cycle rider who snatched away mobile phone from complainant from near Sector 20/30 light point on 09-09-2023. A case FIR No. 77, U/S 379-A IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Pranshu R/o # 418 GF, Sec-43/A, Chandigarh (age-20 years) reported that unknown m/cyclist snatched away complainants mobile phone from near Sports Complex Sec-43, Chandigarh on 08-09-2023. A case FIR No. 294, U/S 379-A IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
