One arrested under NDPS Act
Distt. Crime Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Kamal Singh R/o # 1207-A, Sector 56 Chandigarh (age-38 years) and recovered 14.86 grams ice from his possession near MCM College, Sector-36 on 10-10-2023. A case FIR No. 342, U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Defacement of Property Act
A case FIR No. 79, u/s 3 Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Public Property Act Act has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh against Baljit Singh R/o Singha Devi, Naya Gaon, Distt. Mohali (Pb), (age-61 years) who was putting banners on the wall, backside of police headquarters, Sector-9, Chandigarh on 10-10-2023. He has been arrested in this case and later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Cheating
A case FIR No. 80, U/S 420, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh on the complaint of Nitish Chhibber R/o SCO NO. 153-154-155, Sector 9-C Chandigarh who alleged that (1) Kiranpal Singh, (2) Harmandeep Singh, (3) Lovepreet Singh and (4) Manmohan Singh all R/o Distt. Firozpur (Pb) and others, intentionally deceived the Complainant by their false and fraudulent representations in inducing the officers of Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. to sanction financial assistance in the form of Kisan Credit Card (KCC) for an amount of Rs. 140.00 Lacs and Rs. 115.00 Lacs and disbursement of the same. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Accident
A case FIR No. 124, U/S 279, 304-A IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady resident of Chandigarh (age-55 yrs) reported that unknown auto driver who hit to complainant’s husband Vikram (pedestrian) at Sector-39 to Maloya Road on 09-10-2023. Victim got injured and admitted in GMSH-16, later referred to PGI where he expired during treatment. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Dowry
A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that her husband and mother-in-law resident of New Delhi harassed the complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 59, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
