One arrested for consuming liquor at public place

Chandigarh Police arrested Madhusudan R/o Sector-28/C, Chandigarh, Age 48 Years while he was consuming liquor and created nuisance near parking Sadar Market, Sector-19, Chandigarh on 16.10.2023. A case FIR No. 88, U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act & 510 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. He was later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Two arrested for possessing illicit liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Deepak Kumar Mahto R/o Village Kawalpura Distt. Saran, Bihar age-22 and recovered 48 bottles of English liquor from his possession near VTC Yard Daria on 15-10-2023. A case FIR No. 120, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Shiva R/o # 2540, Sector-52D, Chandigarh (age-19 yrs) and recovered 300 quarters of country made liquor from his possession near Green Park, Sector-52, Chandigarh on 16.10.2020. A case FIR No. 358, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Kasturi Lal R/o # 313, Sector-37-A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away cash Rs. 1,26,000/- and 12 suits (worth about Rs. 1,50,000/-) from his shop i.e. Hastkala Print Pvt. Ltd., SCO No. 17-18, Sector-11, Chandigarh between 14-10-2023 to 16-10-2023. A case FIR No. 187, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Quarrel/ Assault

A case FIR No. 170, U/S 323, 325, 506, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sandeep Bhalla R/o # 2170, Sector-21, Chandigarh who alleged that Vicky Verma & Munish Verma both R/o # 2810, Sector-22/C, Chandigarh assaulted & threatened complainant and his friend Chaitanya Kumar Verma near H.No. 2616, Sector 22C, Chandigarh on the night intervening 13/14-10-2023. Complainant sustained injuries and admitted to GMSH-16, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 173, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh on the complaint of Om Parkash R/o # 1105, Sector-67, Mohali PB, (Age 67 Years) who alleged that driver of car No. CH-01BZ-4360 namely Sandeep Kumar R/o # 2017/30, Sector-32/C, Chandigarh had hit complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH-01BU-2758 near Chowk Sector-31/32, Chandigarh on 25-09-2023. Complainant sustained injuries and was admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
