One arrested under NDPS Act
Chandigarh Police arrested Balwinder Singh @ Sonu R/o # 101, Village Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh and recovered 8.5 Kg ganja from his possession near Makhan Majra Barrier, Sukhna-Choo, Chandigarh on 16.05.2022. A case FIR No. 66 dated 16.05.2022 U/S 20 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested for possessing illegal liquor
Chandigarh Police arrested Pardeep R/o # 61, Village Kishangarh ,Chandigarh (aged 42 years) from near Marri Wali Gali, Kishangarh Chowk, while illegally possessing 75 quarters of country made liquor on 16.05.2022. A case FIR No. 27 dated 16.05.2022 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Snatching
A case FIR No. 91 dated 16.05.2022 U/S 379B, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Akram R/o # 161, Village Kajheri, Chandigarh who reported that 2 unknown persons snatched away complainant’s mobile phone and purse containing some documents from back side ISBT, Sector 17, Chandigarh on 16.05.2022. Later persons namely Parmod Yadav (age 22 years) R/o # 83, Milk Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh and Subham (age 21 yrs) R/o #283, Kachi Colony, Dhanas, UT, Chandigarh have been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Cheating
A case FIR No. 82 dated 16.05.2022 U/S 406, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Darmian Singh R/o # 2564, Sector-20-C, Chandigarh and 28 others complainants who alleged that M/S Gupta Builders and Promoters GBP Pvt. Ltd. SCO No. 196-197, Sector 34-A, Chandigarh though its Director Satish Gupta, Raman Gupta, Pardeep Gupta and Anupam Gupta cheated the complainant regarding for purchasing the plot in Smart City, Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, Mohali (Pb) in the year 2018-2019. The alleged persons cheated complainant Rs. 39,82,500/- for providing him a Plot and promised to give the possession of the plot. But they neither given authority of said plot nor returned his money. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Accident
A case FIR No. 100 dated 16.05.2022 U/S 279, 304-A IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the statement of a lady resident of Sector-43B, Chandigarh who alleged that a lady R/o Sector-43A, Chandigarh driving Swift Car No. CH01AQ-9457 hit to complainant’s husband Ravi Kumar (pedestrian) near her residence on 16.05.2022. Victim got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh where he was declared brought dead. Alleged car driver lady arrested and later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
