CHANDIGARH POLICE : IMMIGRATION FIRMS TO FACE CONSEQUENCES

SPECIAL DRIVE LAUNCHED TO CHECK ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION FIRMS OPERATING IN CHANDIGARH

Keeping in view the spurt in public complaints against immigration firms and as per directions of Senior Officers, Chandigarh Police launched a special drive to check permissions/permits of immigration firms operating their business in UT Chandigarh. During this drive, 15 firms were identified operating without proper permit/permission and 9 people including the owners and managers of the firms were arrested under section 188 IPC for violating the orders of District Magistrate, UT, Chandigarh issued vide order no. DM/MA/2023/10342 dated 21.04.2023 under Section 144 Cr.P.C. The firms were found violating the Government instructions that required them to obtain permits from the local administration and to register their credentials with the local police.

Chandigarh Police booked following 15 firms under section 188 IPC:
