Chandigarh Police Organizes “Diwali Milan cum Sampark Sabha”

“Diwali Milan cum Sampark Sabha” programme was held at Multipurpose Hall, Police Lines, Sector-26, Chandigarh, for the police personnel. On this occasion, Praveer Ranjan, IPS, DGP/UT, R.K. Singh, IPS, IGP/UT, Manisha Chaudhary, IPS, SSP/Traffic & Security, Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP/UT, Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/ Headquarters, Mridul, IPS, SP/City Chandigarh and all DSPs & other officials were present on this occasion. The event was held to keep the police personnel in high spirits. About 450 police officials attended the programme from all ranks and units of the Chandigarh Police force.
The welcome address was given by Ram Gopal, DSP/CID and praised the DGP/UT for the recent initiatives taken as welfare of police personnel as followed the guidelines of Chandigarh Administration and also given warm Diwali greetings to the senior officers on behalf of all Chandigarh police officials.
Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Headquarter, highlighted work done and in progress under the guidance of W/DGP/UT, i.e. the 576 houses allotted to police personnel at Police Complex Dhanas, and 42 house also allotted recently and apart from this 192 houses will be handed over to Chandigarh police for further allotment. Recruitment of 44 ASI’s and 700 constables and verification of selected candidates are under process and may be completed in this month and will be sent for training. The fixation of 7th Central pay commission has been completed and the salary of October, 2023 has been given. The Scholarship schemes for police wards for outstanding performance in the field of Education and sports under Welfare schemes has been increased from 50 lakh to Rs.75 lakh. He further paid warm Diwali greetings to the police personnel and their family members on the occasion of Diwali.
Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP/UT, briefed the officials that the patrolling will be intensified in the city especially around the busy market on the upcoming festivals. Special Anti-Sabotage Check is being carried out at important places of Bus Stand, crowded area and busy markets from anti explosive/sabotage point of view. She further paid warm Diwali greetings to the police personnel and their family members on the occasion of Diwali.
In his address, Praveer Ranjan, IPS, DGP/UT, extended the warm Diwali greetings to the police personnel and their family members and also briefed the police officials during the occasion. He advised all to be polite while dealing with public especially during festivals and their behavior should landmark in the heart of general public. He told that Chandigarh Police has also appointed Forensic Experts to increase the quality of the investigation. He praised the assistance of Chandigarh Police for the Samavesh Programme in the city. Public has extended the gesture to the Chandigarh Police for making successful liaison with the different stuff of society.
He also praised Ram Gopal DSP/CID for mPassport App for providing passport verification related services in more speedy and convenient manner also reduced the police verification time without any delay. He told that the Chandigarh Police is doing very good work especially during the law & order duties and investigations and for this 113 police officials are rewarded with certificates cash rewards along with concerned SDPOs & SHOs for work out cases, investigation, best police officials of the month. Besides 25 investigation officers have also been rewarded with CC1 and cash reward for conviction of accused in different cases.
The “Diwali Milan cum Sampark Sabha” programme was followed by high tea in a congenial environment of esprit-de-corps and the Chandigarh Police Band played melodious tunes for the members of the force.
