Chandigarh Police successfully conducted Football Tournament for boys (Under-16)

Chandigarh Police has successfully conducted a Football Tournament for boys (Under-16) on 16&17 June 2022,  under the supervision of Mridul, IPS, SDPO-South West. The tournament was organizedat Football ground, RTC, Police Lines, Sec-26, Chandigarh, with the motive to encourage Youth towards Sports and deter their interest towards Drugs and anti-social activities. Itwas also an initiative towards Community Policing and instill sense of co-operation among General Public. The tournament was inaugurated by Ms. Shruti Arora, IPS, SP-City, UT, Chandigarh.

During the tournament, 5 teams of boys of the locality have slogged their guts out as well as showing great skills and sportsmanship, to win the tournament. The prize money was proposed to be Rs. 11,000/- and Rs 7,100/- respectively for Winner and Runner-up Teams. Apart from this, Rs.5100/- was proposed for the best player of the Tournament. Today, the final match was played between SFA Team and St. Soldier Team.SFA Team is Winner and St. Soldier Team is Runner-up. Today, in the closing ceremony of the Tournament, Mr Parveen Ranjan, IPS, DGP, UT-Chandigarh along with Kuldeep Singh Chahal, IPS, SSP-UT Chandigarh, Shruti Arora, IPS, SP-City, UT Chandigarh were present and prizes were distributed by them to the Winner and Runner-up Teams.

Further, Senior Police Officers, as well as prominent persons of the locality, also charmed the event with their kind presence.
