Chandigarh Police: Workshop on Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances

Under the guidance of Praveer Ranjan, IPS, DGP/UT, Chandigarh and under the supervision of Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/HQrs. & Training/U.T. Chandigarh, one day workshop on “Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985- latest Judgments & Gazette notifications” was organized by Chandigarh Police in association with Narcotics Control Bureau, Chandigarh and Law & Prosecution Department, UT, Chandigarh at Recruit Training Centre, Sector-26, Chandigarh. This training program was attended by all SDPOs / DSPs and SHOs / Inspectors alongwith investigating officers & Malkhana Munshi from various Police Stations / Units of Chandigarh Police. Also, Intelligence Officers from NCB, Chandigarh and Public Prosecutors from Law & Prosecution Department, UT, Chandigarh attended this training program. Total 112 participants attended this training program.
Deepak Purohit, IPS, DIGP/UT, Chandigarh was the chief guest of the function and he inaugurated the workshop by lightning the lamp. He addressed the participants and motivated them to enhance their skills to deal with the NDPS cases efficiently as it is the need of hour. Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP/UT, Chandigarh, Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/HQrs. & Training, UT, Chandigarh, Mridul, IPS, SP/City, UT, Chandigarh, Mohinder jit Singh, Assistant Director, NCB, Chandigarh, Lalit Kadian, Surveillance Assistant, NCB, Chandigarh, Ashu Mohan Punchhi, Public Prosecutor, Sachin, Public Prosecutor and Manjit Singh Masoun, Public Prosecutor were present during the program. Jaswinder Kaur, DSP/Training welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest faculty and participants and gave overview of the course contents.
Guest Faculty, Srinivasan Gopal, Superintendent, NACIN, Faridabad delivered the lecture to the participants and he made aware the participants regarding NDPS Act and latest court judgments & gazette notifications. He answered the various queries raised by the participants.
Mohinder jit Singh, Assistant Director, NCB, Chandigarh delivered lecture to the participants and shared his experience regarding cases under NDPS, Act. Ashu Mohan Punchhi, Public Prosecutor interacted with the participants and motivated the participants for effective investigation.
This comprehensive workshop was specially focused on the NDPS, Act, as well as latest court judgments & gazette notifications. The workshop ended with the feedback session and feedback of the participants was excellent. All the participant appreciated this interactive workshop where all their queries related to the NDPS cases in all aspects i.e. legal, departmental and procedural got answered at one place.
