UNAUTHORIZED VENDORS TO FACE HEAT: CBM MEETS COMMISSIONER OVER SECTOR 19 ASSAULT INCIDENT

A delegation of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM), led by Sanjiv Chadha, President CBM, met with Amit Kumar, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, to express their concerns over the growing issue of unauthorized vendors occupying commercial spaces in city markets. The meeting was prompted by a recent incident in Sector 19C, where an unauthorized vendor assaulted a shopkeeper, sparking outrage among traders. The delegation, which included Charanjiv Singh, Chairman & former councillor, Sushil Bansal, Advisor, Navdeep Sharma, Ex-Active Member, CBM, and Chandan, Mahajan, and Vicky Manchanda, representing Sector 19C market, demanded strict and prompt action against such vendors. The Commissioner assured the delegation that unauthorized vendors would be removed from commercial areas, except authorized vending zones, and directed officials to take effective measures to prevent such incidents.
