The Chandigarh unit of the Mahila Congress held a meeting of the State Executive alongside the “Nari Nyay Sadasya Samman Samaroh” in Chandigarh.
The program was organized under the leadership of Indian Mahila Congress President Mrs. Alka Lamba, with Chandigarh Congress President Harmohinder Singh Lucky as a special guest. Other notable attendees included Chandigarh Congress General Secretary Achelal Gour, Chandigarh Mahila Congress President Nandita Hooda, and senior leaders of the Mahila Congress, including Suman Lata Vaid, Mamta Rana, Maya Devi, Urvashi, Meena Duggal, Kavita, Renu Chaudhary, Geeta, Pammi Devi, Amarjeet, Lalita, Sangeeta, and others.
Addressing the gathering, Chandigarh Mahila Congress President Nandita Hooda emphasized the significance of the felicitation ceremony. She stated that its primary aim was to honor and welcome women who have recently joined the Mahila Congress while raising awareness among women about their rights and interests. She stressed that increasing women’s political participation is essential for true empowerment.
Hooda further highlighted the importance of collective commitment to creating a society free of discrimination against women. She urged that constitutional rights must be strongly implemented to ensure women receive the full benefits they deserve.
Indian Mahila Congress President Alka Lamba reaffirmed the Congress Party’s dedication to fostering an inclusive and equal-opportunity environment for all women. She pledged that the Mahila Congress would continue to amplify women’s voices and fight against any form of injustice. “We are committed to becoming a loud voice for all women and will leave no stone unturned in our efforts toward women empowerment,” Lamba said.
Chandigarh Congress President Harmohinder Singh Lucky reiterated that the Congress Party is determined to raise awareness among women and encourage them to become self-reliant. “The development of society is incomplete without equal opportunity and security for women,” he remarked.
During the program, participants were urged to accelerate the ongoing membership campaign. A membership kit was distributed to all women present, marking the occasion.
