Delhi court grants 5 days ED custody of AAP MP Sanjay Singh
The Voice of Chandigarh :
AAP leader Sanjay Singh was remanded to 5 days’ ED custody by a Delhi court on Thursday in connection with the money laundering probe into the Delhi Excise Policy scam case.
Singh was arrested on Wednesday by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after a day-long interrogation. He was produced before the Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday, which granted him to ED custody till October 10.
The ED has alleged that Singh was involved in routing crores of rupees of illegal proceeds from the Delhi Excise Policy scam to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Singh’s arrest has triggered a political firestorm with the AAP alleging that it is a political vendetta by the BJP-led central government.
The AAP has announced that it will hold protests across the country against Singh’s arrest.
