DR. AMBEDKAR INSTITUTE OF HOTEL MANAGEMENT CATERING AND NUTRITION ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management, a premier hotel management Institute under the Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India, concluded a special batch of “Entrepreneurship Development Program” under “Skill Development” scheme of Govt. of India.

The program was launched to create employability & entrepreneurship skills among the candidates. It was a six weeks full-time course in the Bakery trade which focused on providing hands-on training to the candidates. Around 25 participants in the age group of 18 to 62 yrs got trained from the institute. It also helped in building emphasis on improving the trainees’ behaviour and attitudes in order to enhance their market acceptability. The candidates were also given input in running small food businesses. This training programme was free of cost and the trainees were also provided with meals by the Institute. Some mouth-watering desserts & exquisite preparations like Bread, Bread rolls, Pastry, Cakes, Biscuits etc were demonstrated by the learned Chefs of the institute.

“The institute ensured that the training imparted under the said scheme was of the highest quality so that the pass-outs are proficient enough to be easily employable in the hospitality sector or start up their own food café.,” said, Mr. Sitesh Srivastava, Principal of the Institute.

One of the senior-most participant, Mr Jasvir Singh said, “I got to learn a lot from this program. I am 62 yrs of age & now I wish to start my own Bakery business soon”
