Former President of India Launches Eighth Edition of “Gita Acharan: A Beginner’s Perspective”
The Voice of Chandigarh : The eighth edition of the widely acclaimed book, “Gita Acharan: A Beginner’s Perspective,” authored by senior IAS officer K. Siva Prasad, was ceremoniously launched by the esteemed former President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, at Punjab Raj Bhawan, in the presence of Mr. Banwari Lal Purohit, Governor of Punjab and the Administrator of UT Chandigarh, Bandaru Dattatreya Governor of Haryana and Additional Solicitor General of India Satya Pal Jain.
This edition marks a significant milestone in the journey of “Gita Acharan,” as it is now available in eight Indian languages, including English, Hindi, Punjabi, Odia, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, and Gujarati. Plans are underway for its publication in Urdu, further expanding its accessibility and reach.
Mr. Kovind commended the efforts behind making the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita accessible to a broader audience through translations into multiple languages. He highlighted the importance of initiatives like “Gita Acharan” in fostering a deeper understanding of the timeless wisdom encapsulated in the Gita.
Authored by K. Siva Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor of Punjab, “Gita Acharan: A Beginner’s Perspective ” presents complex philosophical concepts in a simplified manner through short essays. Drawing from over three decades of experience and interdisciplinary studies in western thinking processes and behavioral sciences, Prasad’s work aims to resonate with beginners, especially the youth, enabling them to navigate life’s challenges with joy and resilience.
The book’s unique approach, blending spirituality with modern scientific understanding, has garnered widespread acclaim.
