Global Youth Film Festival 2024: Unleashing the Power of Youth in Cinema

The second day of the Global Youth Film Festival was a vibrant celebration of youthful talent and cinematic excellence, showcasing the participation of school students from across India.
Students aged 13 to 18 years took centre stage, demonstrating their creativity and passion for filmmaking. The day’s events began with a grand Opening Ceremony, presided over by NAVEEN (DANICS) DIRECTOR GOVERNMENT MUSEAUM AND ART GALLERY. In his address, he commended the organizers and participants, stating, “Initiatives like this inspire our youth to think creatively and take bold steps in the realm of filmmaking. I am honoured to be part of an event that celebrates innovation and talent on such a large scale.”
The day’s events concluded with a Gala Awards Ceremony, where winners across various categories were announced, and 45 film category awards were distributed to honor the outstanding contributions of young filmmakers.
The highlight of the day was the enthusiastic participation of schools from every corner of the country, making this a truly national event that celebrated India’s budding talent. The festival provided an invaluable platform for students to express their stories, creativity, and innovation through the medium of film.
Presiding over the day’s proceedings was IQBAL CHEEMA, Founder of PUNJAB FILM CITY, who served as the Chief Guest for the Gala Awards Ceremony. In his inspiring address, he said, “It is heartwarming to see such immense talent and creativity among our youth. Events like the Global Youth Film Festival are instrumental in shaping the future of Indian cinema and providing a platform for young minds to showcase their potential. My best wishes to all the participants for their future endeavours.” Joining him as CELEBRITY GUEST was SUMRIT SHAHI, WRITER for the OTT Platform Amazon , who emphasized the importance of fostering young talent in the film industry. He was the youngest writer from Chandigarh City to recreate a successful benchmark for himself in the Industry in Mumbai.
During the Gala Awards Ceremony, winners were recognized in both senior and junior categories for their exemplary filmmaking skills. The 45 film category awards highlighted the diversity and depth of talent present, with accolades spanning various genres, themes, and technical achievements. This celebration of cinematic excellence marked a significant milestone for the young participants, motivating them to aim for greater heights in their creative journeys.

The MGN PUBLIC SCHOOL, Jalandhar won the best film award for their film GANGA. Besides this there were more than 45 awards presented to the participants.
