Havan at MCM marks the beginning of the new year
The Voice of Chandigarh :
In keeping with its tradition of monthly havan yajna and marking the beginning of new year, the Arya Samaj Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organised havan here today. Organised with the objective of inculcating vedic values in the students, havan is a monthly ritual at MCM wherein the staff and students offer prayers to the holy fire amidst chanting of shlokas and mantras.
The havan was conducted by adhering to COVID appropriate behaviour. The staff members whose birthday falls in the month of January were blessed with garlands on this occasion by Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava. Speaking during the havan, Dr. Bhargava wished everyone a fulfilling year ahead and prayed for universal peace and prosperity. She informed that MCM has adopted a holistic approach to educating students wherein besides preparing the students for success, emphasis is also laid on inculcating moral values in them. She added that with the aim of keeping students in touch with our rich traditions and vedic practices, havan is organised every month.
