Immigration Fraud Case Registered in Chandigarh; One Arrested

The police have registered an FIR (No. 25) at Sector 3 Police Station, Chandigarh, under sections 316(5), 318(4), 338, 336(3), 340(2), 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 24 of the Immigration Act against Gaurav Jalota and others for allegedly cheating a man on the pretense of sending him abroad.

The complaint was filed by Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Village Sanaur, District Patiala, Punjab, who alleged that he was duped of ₹2,50,000 by New Maple Immigration, Sector 9, Chandigarh. Following an investigation, police arrested Gaurav Jalota, a resident of Sector 47/D, Chandigarh.

Authorities have confirmed that further investigation into the case is ongoing.
