‘India International Travel Mart’ (IITM) Hyderabad 2021: Tourism Fair Show was once again a resounding success

The Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh contribute to a large extent to the domestic tourist inflow towards the UT of J&K. In order to invite more tourists from South India especially from Telangana State, The department of tourism, Jammu and Kashmir participated in the IITM held at Hitex Convention Hall, Izzatnagar Hyderabad from 03rd-05th of December 2021. The expo was also attended by more than 20 States like Karnataka, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Goa, UP, Bihar etc. including the host State of Telangana.
The three day event was inaugurated by Honourable Minster for Tourism, Culture and Archaeology Government of Telangana V Srinivas Goud. While interacting with the participating state representative Mr. Goud assured full cooperation of the Government of Telangana and announced that a special desk will be opened in the office of the Directorate of Tourism Telangana for assisting stakeholders in the smooth interchange of best practices. On his visit to the J&K Pavilion, the Honourable Minister was presented a memento by Mr Sher Singh CEO of Patnitop Development Authority.
Uppala Srinavas Gupta, Chairman T.S. Tourism Development Corporation Limited, Mr Nagesh Pampati (Chairman TAAI, Telangana), Mr Liaqat Ali (President, TOAT) and another prominent representative of Tourism Bodies also visited the J&K Pavilion. The stall exhibited by J&K Tourism was attended by a huge number of visitors and their enquiries were addressed by the Exhibitors and Official representatives. The visitors were informed that an increasing number of Tourists are visiting J&K post the covid-19 lockdown, due to better-managed security and covid containment strategy by the UT government.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, a roadshow was also organised by the J&K Tourism, under the title, “J&K Tourism – New hopes New destinations” for presenting new destinations and experiences on offer in J&K and for showcasing the initiative taken by Tourism Department in offering best services and products to intending tourists.
The 75 new destinations identified by the department for their promotion and showcasing, in view of the celebration of the 75th Year of Independence under the caption Azadi Ka Amrut Mahat Utsav generated great interest from the prospective tourists and tourism players.
From the Department, the event was attended by Mr Sher Singh CEO Tourism Development Authority Patnitop, Dr Zahoor Ahmad Raina CEO Tourism Development Authority Gulmarg, Mr Mohammad Sajid Kirmani Tourist officer J&K Tourism Office Hyderabad besides other officials.
