India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has appointed Aloke Singh, former Managing Director of Air India Express, as its new Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). The appointment will come into effect from April 6, 2026.

In his new role, Singh will be responsible for driving IndiGo’s long-term strategic direction, including expansion plans, operational efficiency, and overall business transformation. He will initially report to IndiGo’s Managing Director Rahul Bhatia and later to the airline’s new CEO once appointed.

Singh brings over three decades of experience in the aviation sector, having held key leadership positions across airlines such as Air India Express and Oman Air. His appointment is seen as a significant step in strengthening IndiGo’s leadership team amid evolving market dynamics.

The development comes at a crucial time for IndiGo, as the airline looks to stabilize operations and accelerate growth, particularly in international markets. The move also follows recent leadership changes and operational challenges faced by the airline, signaling a renewed focus on strategic planning and long-term expansion.

Industry experts view Singh’s induction as a positive step towards reinforcing IndiGo’s position in India’s rapidly growing aviation sector.
