Jagdeep Dhankhar elected Vice President of India

Former West Bengal Governor and BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Jagdeep Dhankar became the new Vice President for India. Dhankar ran for the position against the opposition’s candidate Margaret Alva. Dhankhar secured 528 votes while Alva got 182. The Vice President-elect will take oath on August 11.
