MAJOR SUCCESS TO CHANDIGARH POLICE IN A SENSATIONAL ROBBERY CASE

Under the guidance of W/SSP/UT, supervision of W/SP/City & Operations, a team of officials of East-Sub Division headed by SDPO/East and personally led by SHO 19 along with SHO Ind Area and SHO 26, achieved major success by working out a sensational robbery case FIR No. 22 dated 10.05.2023 U/s 392, 34 IPC registered at PS-19, Chandigarh in which a Tata Indigo car belonging to an Ola Cab driver was robbed at knife point by two miscreants posing as passengers.
In this case Mr. Danish S/o Mansoor Ahmed R/o H. NO. 759/5A, Thakurdwara, Mani Majra UT, Chandigarh Age 25 years reported that he is a taxi driver working with OLA Cabs. On the night intervening dated 09/10.05.2023 he was coming from Behlana after dropping a passenger and reached at Airport Light Point, Chandigarh. Thereby two boys asked to be dropped at Sector 17 Bus Stop, Chandigarh. The said boys sat in his taxi posing as passengers and when he reached the dividing road Sector 18/21, the said unknown boys snatched his white color Tata Indigo car No. HR55Y-6214 at knife point at about 12:50 AM on 10.05.2023.
During the course of investigation SI Prem Singh along with other officials and the complainant reached near BeatBox Elante Mall, where HC Salwinder Singh and Ct Krishan Kumar met him, and further assisted the team. A secret informer disclosed that these types of miscreants could be traced near slaughter house Colony No.4, Chandigarh. On this SI Prem Singh along with team reached there and the two boys were found there.
On identification by the complainant, accused namely Suraj S/o Nakul Singh R/o H.No. 2535, Sector 49 Chandigarh age 22 yrs & accused Mohd Javed age 27 yrs S/o Mohd. Rasid Alam R/o H. No. 187/98 Sanjay Labour Colony Ind. Area Phase 1, Chandigarh were arrested on 12.05.23.
During further investigation, the stolen mobile phone has been recovered from accused Suraj. They were produced before the Court and their Police remand for 3 days has been obtained. The robbed car as well as the knife used, are to be recovered from Moradabad UP and further investigation is going on.
