Manish Tewari and H.S. Lucky Advocate for Key Chandigarh Issues in Advisory Council Meeting
The Voice of Chandigarh News:
Chandigarh MP Manish Tewari and local Congress President H.S. Lucky vociferously raised issues pertaining to the people of Chandigarh during the Advisory Council meeting.
Manish Tewari expressed concern over the undue delay in the Metro project for Chandigarh and neighboring areas. He demanded a timeline from the authorities for clearing the garbage dump in Dadumajra. It was agreed that the dump would be cleared by December 31, 2024. Tewari further stated that the Chandigarh Administration has misinterpreted the Supreme Court’s judgment in the matter of seeking permission for floor-wise registries in UT Chandigarh.
H.S. Lucky raised concerns regarding the non-implementation of the MSME Act in the Union Territory, the conversion of leasehold commercial and industrial properties to freehold, and the regularization of construction outside Lal Dora in the villages, among other issues. Additionally, Lucky strongly demanded the withdrawal of draconian notices being sent to industrial and commercial units in the city for minor violations. He also highlighted demands for land pooling in villages, an amicable resolution of need-based changes in Housing Board dwelling units, and the provision of immediate relief to unrecognized schools.
