Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla Addresses CII–Indian Women Network Annual Session as Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker

The CII–Indian Women Network (IWN), Chandigarh Tricity Chapter Annual Session 2025–26 was held at the CII Headquarters, Sector 31, Chandigarh. The event was graced by Harpreet Kaur Babla, Mayor of Chandigarh, who attended as the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker.
In her keynote address, the Mayor highlighted the pivotal role of women in leadership, governance, and inclusive urban development. Sharing insights from her own journey in public service, she emphasised that meaningful participation of women in decision-making and policy formulation is essential for building cities that are equitable, resilient, and future-ready.
She underscored the need for greater representation of women in civic leadership, public policy, and institutional governance, stating that inclusive leadership leads to more balanced and people-centric urban growth. The Mayor also acknowledged the growing contribution of women across sectors in shaping Chandigarh’s social and economic landscape.
Commending the efforts of the CII–Indian Women Network, the Mayor noted that platforms like IWN play a crucial role in empowering women leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals by fostering dialogue, collaboration, and collective progress. She appreciated the enthusiasm and commitment demonstrated by women participants, describing them as key drivers of positive change.
The Mayor congratulated the organising team for a well-curated and impactful session and thanked them for their warm hospitality. She concluded by reiterating the collective responsibility to work towards a more inclusive, empowered, and progressive Chandigarh, where women lead from the front and inspire future generations.
