NITTTR Chandigarh Celebrates 57th Annual Day: Honored with “Deemed to be University” Status and Fosters Vision of Viksit Bharat

The 57th Annual Day of the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) Chandigarh, held on September 7, 2024, was a grand celebration of the institute’s milestones and future aspirations. The event was graced by Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh, who commended NITTTR Chandigarh for receiving the “Deemed to be University” status under the Distinct Category. His address highlighted the crucial role of educational institutions in advancing national development and fostering indigenous technological solutions. Kataria emphasized the importance of teachers and envisioned NITTTR Chandigarh as a pivotal player in India’s journey toward global leadership.

The Guest of Honour, Prof. (Dr.) Binod Kumar Kanaujia, Director of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, stressed the necessity of high-quality educational institutions for shaping the character of youth.

In his report, Prof. (Dr.) Bhola Ram Gurjar, Director of NITTTR Chandigarh, showcased the institute’s achievements and progress towards excellence in higher education and technical skill development.

The event also celebrated the accomplishments of meritorious students and honored the ‘Best Polytechnic’ and ‘Best Engineering College’ for their exceptional contributions to technical education in northern India.

A panel discussion on the implementation of NEP 2020 and its future in higher education institutions, along with an interactive session with senior officials from government and quasi-government organizations, were part of the celebrations. These discussions aimed at identifying improvements in infrastructure and human resource development in engineering and allied fields.

The evening concluded with a vibrant cultural program performed by the students, staff, and faculty, reflecting the dynamic and creative spirit of the institute.
