Oxygen Management in Private Hospitals in UT Chandigarh

Considering the issues of OMICRON variant of COVID-19 and the possible threat of third wave of COVID-19, there is need to remain prepared for handing the positivity rate which may be even higher than the second wave.
Dharam Pal, Adviser to Administrator UT is regularly monitoring the preparedness and has directed to ensure proper co-ordination with the Private Hospitals as well.
Previously meeting was held with the Private Hospitals on 10.09.2021 and on 13.10.2021 for oxygen supply and other related issues. Today another review meeting was convened by the Secretary Health which also attended by Dr. Suman Singh, DHS and Dr. Manjit Singh, Nodal Officer Oxygen. It has been observed that
i. Eden Hospital has placed order for installation of PSA Oxygen Plant with 50 LPM capacity which is expected to be made functional by the end of December 2021. Previously the schedule was given as 31.10.2021 but because of certain issues, the supply order of that company was cancelled and a fresh order has already been issued.
ii. Healing Hospital has placed a supply order for PSA Oxygen plant with 150 LPM capacity and will be functioned by 31.12.2021.
iii. Mukat Hospital has placed a supply order for PSA Oxygen plant with 140 LPM capacity and will be functioned by 31.01.2022. Further it has provided two tanks of Liquid Medical Oxygen with the capacity of 430 Ltrs each.
iv. Shri Dhanwantry Hospital is still in the advance stage of finalising purchase of 250 LPM PSA plant. Some Oxygen Concentrators have already been procured while few more are in the process.
v. Land Mark Hospital has decided to install a tank of Liquid Medical Oxygen with capacity of 999 Ltrs. However, it was advised to go for PSA Oxygen plant without any further delay.
vi. Chaitanya Hospital has installed 04 tanks of Liquid Medical Oxygen with the capacity of 200 Ltrs each. These tanks will be functional from tomorrow itself. Further they have procured some Oxygen Concentrators also.
vii. Santokh Hospital is getting one tank of Liquid Medical Oxygen with the capacity of 200 Ltrs in next few days.
In view of above, the progress/efforts of the Private Hospitals has been found to be quite satisfactory and the status will now be reviewed after about one month. However, in case situations demands, next meeting with the Private Hospitals may be held after about 15 days.
