PEOPLE FROM OTHER STATES FALL IN LOVE WITH TRADITIONAL FOOD, DANCE AND ATTIRES OF PUNJAB IN TOURISM SUMMIT

In the first Punjab Tourism Summit and Travel Mart organized with the objective of promoting tourism of the state, guests from other states enamoured with the sumptuous food, traditional dances and attires of Punjab on the second day of this mega event at Amethi University, Mohali.
During this program, investors, representatives and people associated with the tourism industry from across the country enjoyed delicious food at the food stalls located in the travel mart. Sandeep Panduranga from eco-tourism in Maharashtra, said that he has tasted ‘saag and makki di roti’ several times at different places but today he relished the real taste of it which he has never experienced before.
Similarly, Kalnick D’Souza from Goa, said that she has bought superior quality of Punjabi shoes and traditional suits for her family at a reasonable price in this travel mart. She said that a large number of people get employment from water-based sports in Goa and development of water sports here will generate tremendous employment for the people of Punjab.
During the summit, participants from other states also showed keen interest in the folk dances and folk dresses of Punjab. On the second day of the summit today, a large number of people from other states were seen wearing traditional ‘Turla turbans’.
Davinder Singh Jugni, the organizer of Jugni Musical Group, who is performing bhangra performances at the travel mart, said that today they have tied the traditional turbans on 200 people and due to staggering fervour among visitors for wearing traditional Punjabi attires, he has to immediately buy about 100 new turbans and offered to the guests.
