POLICE STATION SECTOR 17 CHANDIGARH ACHIEVES MAJOR SUCCESS

As per direction of Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, W/SSP,UT Chandigarh, under the guidance of Mridul, IPS, W/SP-City, UT, Chandigarh and under supervision of SDPO/Central, a team of Police Station Sector-17 headed by Insp. Rajeev Kumar SHO PS-17 has achieved major success by arresting a thief in case FIR No. 197 dated 24.12.2023 U/s 411, 471, 473 IPC of PS Sector-17, UT, Chandigarh.
The above said case FIR was registered on the complaint of ASI Yaspal 2894/CP PP-22 PS-17 Chandigarh, wherein he reported that on 24.12.23, he along with police party nabbed a person, while he was coming riding on Activa by affixing fake registration number. During verification, it found that Karan Kumar S/o Rajesh Kumar R/O H. NO. 1979 Near Khera Mandir Burail Sector 45 UT, Chandigarh Age 31 Yrs had stolen an Activa about two days ago near School Sector 45/A, UT, Chandigarh and he was riding on the Activa by affixing fake registration number plate as front side CH01BF-7961 and back side CH01BT-7531. During investigation, accused Karan Kumar was arrested and Activa also taken into police possession.
During further investigation, police remand of accused Karan Kumar was obtained and during police remand three more Motor-cycles and one car have also been recovered on the disclosure of accused which were found stolen in the jurisdiction of Police Station Sec-17, Chandigarh. With the arrest of accused Karan Kumar the following cases have been worked out:-

- E-FIR No. 1101/23 U/s 379 IPC PS-17, Chandigarh
- E-FIR No. 1129/23 U/s 379 IPC PS-17, Chandigarh
- E-FIR No. 1131/23 U/s 379 IPC PS- 17, Chandigarh
- E-FIR No. 1132/23 U/s 379 IPC PS-34, Chandigarh
- Car no. HR14E0008 from maloya police station area .
Criminal History:-
Accused Karan Kumar has been found involved in two theft cases
registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. He is an drug addict. He want’s to sale all vehicles jointly to someone for getting money for buying drugs.
