PRESIDENT OF INDIA VIRTUALLY LAUNCHES AYUSHMAN BHAV CAMPAIGN

In a momentous event set to redefine healthcare accessibility and inclusivity across the Country, Honorable President, Mrs. Droupadi Murmu, inaugurated the visionary ‘Ayushman Bhav’ campaign . This historic launch has taken place through a virtual event, and witnessed in every State and UT.marking a significant leap towards achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and ensuring healthcare for all.
In UT Chandigarh, State event was organized at Raj Bhavan, BanwariLal Purohit , Administrator Chandigarh & Governor of Punjab, launched Ayushman Bhavah Campaign in the presence of Dr. Dharam Pal, IAS,Adviser to the Administrator, Anup Gupta, Mayor, Praveer Ranjan, IPS,DGP, Ajay Chagti, IAS, Secretary Health cum Medical Education, Ms. Hargunjit Kaur, IAS, Secretary Industries & Tourism, Ms. Purva Garg, IAS, Secretary Education, Akhil Kumar, DANICS, Additional Secretary Health cum Director AYUSH, Dr. Suman Singh, DHS cum Mission Director-NHM and Dr. Jasbinder kaur, Director Principal, GMCH-32. Various senior officials from Chandigarh Administration alongwith Nikshay Mitras, Blood Donors and NGOs also attended the event.
Five Nikshay Mitras were also felicitated during the event and praised for their contribution in supporting TB patients. Pledge for Organ donations was taken by all the dignitaries. Medical Officer Incharges and large number of public representatives, counselors, JAS Members, beneficiaries and participants also attended the live telecast of the event of National Launch from CHCs, Health and Wellness Centres , Urban Health &Wellness Centres .
The ‘Ayushman Bhav’ campaign, initiated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, is a comprehensive nationwide healthcare initiative that aims to provide saturation coverage of healthcare services. This groundbreaking initiative builds upon the success of the Ayushman Bharat program and signifies a paradigm shift in healthcare services.
The campaign, which will be implemented during the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ from September 17th to October 2nd, 2023, embodies a whole-of-nation and whole-of-society approach. It unites government sectors, civil society organizations and communities under a common mission to ensure that every individual receives essential health services without any disparity or exclusion.
Banwari Lal Purohit , Administrator Chandigarh & Governor of Punjab stressed on collaborative effort spearheaded by coordination between various departments and shared that core objective of ‘Ayushman Bhav’ campaign is to extend comprehensive healthcare coverage to all, transcending geographical barriers and ensuring that no one is left behind. And our focus should be on generating mass awareness as “Prevention is always better than Cure”.
Synergistic approach aims to saturate coverage of health services through its three components Ayushman – Apke Dwar 3.0, Ayushman Melas at Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) and Community Health Centres (CHCs) and Ayushman Sabhas in every village and ward:
The Ayushman Bhav campaign is aligned with the vision of Universal Health Coverage and in UT Chandigarh, wards that successfully saturate the health schemes will earn the prestigious title of ‘Ayushman Urban Ward,’ symbolizing their dedication to equitable healthcare provision.
The Administrator highlighted the importance of the Ayushman Bhav which comes as blessing “May you live a long life” initiatives and stressed upon organizing Health Melas in the Health and Wellness Centres and urged Medical colleges to hold Health Camps in all CHCs. He emphasized that this would ensure that patients getting screened at the Health Melas can access timely treatment at the Health Melas.
Underlining the complementarity of cleanliness and good health, it is to ensure that all CHCs, HWCs and UHWCs hold Swachchta Drive on 2nd Oct. He also underscored the importance of organ-donation and to encourage the maximum number of Citizens to pledge for Organ donation as it can timely save the life of any person. He also advised to organize voluntary blood-donation Camps. He also emphasized that we should aim for a disease free, clean nation and city .
