PS-MALOYA: GANG OF MOTOR VEHICLES (E-RICKSHAW) LIFTER BUSTED

In a major breakthrough, a team led by Inspector Om Parkash, SHO, PS-Maloya was formed under the close supervision of SDPO/South Davinder Sharma, who busted a Gang of Motor Vehicle (E-Rickshaw) lifter. Two persons have been arrested and 12 cases of vehicle thefts have been solved with the arrest of the accused. The areas affected by the Gang are PS-17, PS-26, PS-19, PS-Sarangpur, PS-Manmajra, PS-IT Park, PS-Mauli Jagran and PS-Maloya. The thieves targeted the E-Rickshaws in midnight hours.
14 stolen vehicles (E-Rickshaw) and the stolen battery of one E-Rickshaw have been recovered from them. The arrested persons are:
1. Accused Deep Singh @ Deep S/o Vinod R/o Vill. Khanpura PS Masudi Distt. Jalalabad (Bihar) presently residing Vill- Lalru, Distt Mohali, age-30 years is studied up to 3rd standard and he is the Gang leader. He was the person who used to do Reece in the targeted area. The Gang committed the Crime during the midnight hours. He was doing theft activities for the last two years.
2. Accused Jinder S/o Sunil R/o VPO & PS Phillaur Distt. Jalandhar (PB), age-24 years is studied up to 10+2 and he is also a member of the Gang.
After sustained efforts, the police party finally succeeded in arresting accused Deep Singh @ Deep S/o Vinod R/o Vill. Khanpura PS Masudi Distt. Jalalabad (Bihar) presently residing Vill- Lalru, Distt Mohali, age-30 years and Jinder S/o Sunil R/o VPO & PS Phillaur Distt. Jalandhar (PB), age-24 years.
During the investigation, it has come to light that earlier, accused Deep Singh @Deep was confined in Model Jail, Ambala, Haryana in an Auto theft case where he meets another accused namely Dheeraj and became good friends. Later on, another accused namely Sonu also meet them and became their friend. After releasing from Model Jail, Ambala, all of them formed their Gang and opened a shop of selling/purchasing/repairing of old E-Rickshaw in Shop no. 25, Gurnam E-Rickshaw, Jeevan Nagar, Jamalpur, Ludhiana, Punjab. Accused Jinder was looking after the shop and accused Deep Singh @Deep along with Dheeraj and Sonu used to commit the crime of stealing E-Rickshaw in the area of Chandigarh. They carried the stolen E-Rickshaws by driving themselves and kept the same in a Godown in Ludhiana.
During the investigation/interrogation, the following 12 cases have been worked out:-
1. One E-Rickshaw (Case FIR no.46, dt.07.05.2021 U/s 379 IPC, PS-Maloya).
2. One E-Rickshaw (Case FIR no.41 dt.14.04.2021 U/s 379 IPC, PS-Maloya).
3. One E-Rickshaw (Case FIR No.55, dt.13.05.2021 U/s 379 IPC, PS-Maloya).
4. One E-Rickshaw (Case FIR no.76 dt.09.06.2021 U/s 379 IPC, PS-Maloya).
5. One stolen battery of E-Rickshaw (Case FIR no.04 dt.14.01.2021 U/s 379 IPC, PS-Maloya).
6. One E-Rickshaw (Stolen from the area of PS-17, Chd, Case FIR no.112 dt.09.06.2020 U/s 379 IPC, PS-17.).
7. One E-Rickshaw(Stolen from the area of PS-19, Chd, Case FIR no.82 dt.05.11.2020 U/s 379 IPC, PS-19.).
8. One E-Rickshaw(Stolen from the area of PS-26, Chd, Case FIR no.50 dt.24.03.2021 U/s 379 IPC, PS-26).
9. One E-Rickshaw(Stolen from the area of PS-MM, Chd, Case FIR no.118 dt.02.07.2021 U/s 379 IPC, PS-MM).
10. One E-Rickshaw(Stolen from the area of PS-Sarangpur, Chd, Case FIR no.71, dt.06.07.2021 U/s 379 IPC, PS-Sarangpur).
11. One E-Rickshaw(Stolen from the area of PS-IT Park, Chd, Case FIR no.17, dt.27.02.2021 U/s 379 IPC, PS-IT Park).
12. One E-Rickshaw(Stolen from the area of PS-Mauli Jagran, Chd, Case FIR no.67, dt.16.06.2021 U/s 379 IPC, PS-Mauli Jagran).
The accused is on police remand and other recoveries are likely to be affected.
