PU Senators urges Punjab Government to implement recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission
The Voice of Chandigarh: An informal meeting of the newly elected/nominated Senators of PU was held today under the Chairmanship of Satya Pal Jain, Ex-MP and a Fellow of the Panjab University. 41 members of the Senate came present in the meeting and 21 others conveyed their inability to attend the meeting because of unavoidable personal reasons but assured of their full support and cooperation to the group.
The meeting passed a resolution urging the Punjab Government to immediately implement the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission for the University and College teachers in the State of Punjab. They said that this issue has been delayed unnecessarily and it is high time that the Punjab Government accepts and implement the recommendations, forthwith. They assured their full support and cooperation to the agitation being carried out by the teaching community in this regard
The meeting also resolved to congratulate the Vice-Chancellor, and his entire team including teaching staff, non-teaching staff and the student community for ranking first in the entire country in Atal Rank Institutions on innovation Achievements. They said that it is a matter of pride for us and for all well-wishers of the University.
The meeting also welcomed the holding of the Senate meeting on 8-1-2022 and resolved that all the Members shall attend the meeting. It said that the meeting is being held after a very long time and therefore nobody should be allowed to obstruct the holding of the meeting.

Sanga, Prof. Jagat Bhushan, Principal Raj Kumar Mahajan, Prof. Sukhbir Kaur, Sh. Prabhjit Singh, Sh. Mukesh Arora, Sh. Davesh Moudgil, Principal Bhalla, Prof. Inderjit Singh Sidhu, Sh. Gaurav Gaur and Sh. Hemant Batra.
