Public Holiday Declaration and Special Leave Notice for Lok Sabha Poll
The Voice of Chandigarh: In accordance with the powers vested under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881, the Chandigarh Administration declares Saturday, June 1, 2024, as a Public Holiday. This declaration extends to all Offices/Boards/Corporations/Institutions under the Chandigarh Administration.
Furthermore, this holiday will be observed as paid leave in Industrial Shops and Commercial Establishments, as well as for daily wage employees.
In a gesture to uphold democratic principles, the Administration also urges employers in Punjab and Haryana to grant Special Casual Leave on June 1, 2024 (Saturday), to registered voters in the Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency. This initiative aims to ensure that individuals can exercise their right to vote in the forthcoming Lok Sabha Election scheduled to be held in UT, Chandigarh.
