Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Unveils PHDCCI’s PITEX-2024 Brochure, Extends Support to Entrepreneurs
The Voice of Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Singh Mann urged industrialists to expand their operations in Punjab, assuring them of the state government’s full cooperation. The Chief Minister officially launched the brochure for the 18th edition of Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX), organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI). The highly anticipated event will be held in Amritsar from December 5 to December 9, 2024.
During the event, Karan Gilhotra, Chair of the PHDCCI Punjab State Chapter, briefed CM Mann about PITEX’s growth since its inception 19 years ago. Starting with just 50 exhibitors, the trade expo has now grown to host over 500 exhibitors annually, attracting lakhs of visitors from across the region.
Gilhotra highlighted PITEX’s vital role in providing businesses with a platform to showcase and launch new products. “Previously, Punjab’s industrialists had to travel to New Delhi and wait for trade expos to launch their products. PITEX has eliminated this need by establishing a premier platform right here in Punjab, bringing the market to our doorstep,” he said.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann lauded the efforts of PHDCCI in fostering industrial growth in Punjab. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting industrialists, entrepreneurs, and startups through simplified industrial policies and timely clearances. “Punjab is poised for growth, and we are actively working to create a business-friendly environment,” said CM Mann.
Bharti Sood, Regional Director of PHDCCI, emphasized the Chamber’s ongoing initiatives to promote small industries and publicize Punjab Government schemes. She also highlighted the Chamber’s recent collaboration with the Punjab Government to organize a conference on stubble management, reflecting its dedication to sustainable development. PITEX-2024 is expected to be a cornerstone event, fostering trade, innovation, and collaboration among businesses while solidifying Punjab’s position as an industrial hub.
