Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Koinadhara Guest House, Guwahati, during his two-day visit to Assam.

Governor Kataria expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Union Home Minister for the recently approved grant of ₹125 crore to the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation. He said the amount will significantly strengthen infrastructure and improve civic amenities in the city.

The Governor also apprised Amit Shah of the recent flood situation in Punjab, providing details on the ongoing relief and rescue operations, the condition of the affected areas, and the support required for future rehabilitation.

The meeting also witnessed discussions on regional development, disaster management, and improving public services.
