The Voice of Chandigarh News: In a major step towards making quality eye care accessible to underprivileged communities, the Punjab Governor and Administrator of Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria, flagged off a Mobile Eye Clinic Van from Punjab Raj Bhavan.

The initiative, spearheaded by the National Association for the Blind (NAB) Chandigarh and Punjab, in collaboration with the Rotary Cosmopolitan Society and Rotary Club of Chandigarh, aims to deliver free eye care services to marginalized sections of society. Supported by Rotary International through matching grants from various Rotary Clubs, the mobile clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art ophthalmic technology to provide comprehensive eye screenings, early detection of vision impairments, and free spectacles to those in need.

Gulab Chand Kataria lauded the efforts of NAB Chandigarh and Punjab, the Rotary Cosmopolitan Society, and the Rotary Club of Chandigarh for their dedication to public welfare. He highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare, particularly in vision care, and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance the well-being of the underprivileged.

The Mobile Eye Clinic Van is expected to reach underserved areas across Chandigarh, offering vital eye care services and raising awareness about early diagnosis and prevention of vision-related issues. This initiative reflects a collective effort to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to all, regardless of socio-economic status.
