Purohit inaugurates ‘Guru Nanak Dev Auditorium’ at Punjab Raj Bhavan

Invoking the blessing of God Almighty for the peace and prosperity of the State, the Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Banwarilal Purohit inaugurated ‘Guru Nanak Dev Auditorium’ at Punjab Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh.
Speaking on the occasion, Purohit said that the state of art multipurpose auditorium well-equipped with latest technology built in the Punjab Raj Bhavan will facilitate holding a range of high profile events in-house. He said that naming the Auditorium after Guru Nanak Dev Ji is a matter of great pride and honour since Guru Nanak Dev Ji always advocated the concept of universal brotherhood. He said that the principles enunciated by Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji transcend time and will continue to guide the humanity, forever. The name of the auditorium, he said will be a constant reminder to all those working at Punjab Raj Bhavan to engage in selfless service, be honest and upright and strive for social justice for the benefit of humanity.
Pertinently, the foundation stone of the auditorium was laid in October 2019 in order to commemorate the 550th Parkash Parv of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The Auditorium covers about 48000 sq. ft of an area and can house nearly 500 people at a time.
The inauguration ceremony was marked by Akhand Path and Kirtan by Sant Teja Singh ji, Sant Kashmira Singh ji (Bhuri Sahib), Baba Banta Singh ji, Sant Aatma Ram ji, Mata Vipan preet Kaur ji and the Jatha.
Speaking on the occasion, Baba Banta Singh Ji said that setting up of an Institution on the name of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji within Punjab Raj Bhavan premises is a unique initiative and is sincerely appreciated. Sant Teja Singh Ji took the opportunity to enlighten all present with the philosophy processed and preached by Sri Guru Nanank Dev Ji especially the principles of Kirat Karo, Vand Chako and Naam Japo.
This was followed by langar for the staff of Punjab Raj Bhavan and their families.
Mayor, Chandigarh, Sarbjit Kaur along with the Councillors, Members of Administrator’s Advisory Council, Anirudh Tewari, Chief Secretary, Punjab, Dharampal, Adviser to Administrator, J.M. Balamurugan, Principal Secretary to Punjab Governor, other senior officers of Punjab and Chandigarh and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
