Rajinder Chaudhry, a senior officer of Indian Information Service has joined PIB Chandigarh as Additional Director General (Region) today. He will also discharge the responsibilities of Additional Press Registrar for the Region. He will take care of the responsibilities of media management for the states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and UT (Chandigarh). He will also hold the additional charge of ADG, Srinagar and will take care of the media coordination and publicity for the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
Mr. Chaudhry has over two decades of experience in handling Government publicity and media coordination through the various media units of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. He was closely associated with the launch of Multi Media Publicity Campaign ‘Jago Grahak Jago’ after its launch and this Campaign became a powerful name in a very short span of time. He has worked as the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Competition Commission of India when he was holding the charge as Director PIB. He also closely monitored the construction of the National Media Centre in New Delhi which has now become the nodal place for organizing press briefings/press conferences for the Central Government. Earlier, he has handled important responsibilities as Editor in DD News, New Delhi & RNU, Bhopal.
Prior to joining PIB Chandigarh, he was holding charge of PIB Bhubaneswar.
