The Voice of Chandigarh
Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, U.T. Branch Chandigarh, today flagged off a convoy of four trucks carrying relief material to Amritsar and Gurdaspur for families affected by the recent floods.
The consignment includes essential rations, cattle feed, tarpaulins, utensils, and other daily-use items. This is the second dispatch by the Chandigarh Red Cross, following an initial convoy of three trucks sent earlier this month.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC-cum-Chairman expressed deep solidarity with the people of Punjab and assured continued support from the Chandigarh Branch. He emphasized that humanitarian relief during natural calamities is possible only due to the generous contributions of donors.
The Red Cross Chandigarh honored Hindu Parv Mahasabha (Regd), Kashatriya Khukhrain Sabha, and Supreme Senior Citizen Welfare Association (Regd) for their valuable support in this noble cause. Their contributions were recognized as exemplary acts of selfless humanitarian service.
The Red Cross Society, Chandigarh, has appealed to citizens and organizations to continue extending their support so that more relief consignments can be dispatched in the coming days to aid the flood-hit families.
