REVENUE DEPARTMENT IMPLEMENTS DECISION OF CM WITHIN A MONTH TO FACILITATE PEOPLE
INTRODUCES SIMPLE PUNJAB LANGUAGE FOR REGISTRATION OF PROPERTY- JIMPA

In another citizen centric decision, the Punjab government led by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has decided to conduct the work of registration of property by the Revenue department in simple Punjabi language to facilitate the people.
Divulging more details, Revenue Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa said that the department has already introduced a form in this regard. He said that the Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, District Revenue Officers and others have been directed to use this form for the registration of property in a simple language. He said that the performa is available on website of the department https://revenue.punjab.gov.in adding that persons desirous of registration of property can download the form from it. Registration can be done on this proforma by taking a printout or typing it again. Jimpa said that the facility of filling this proforma online will also be started soon. The Minister said that the Chief Minister had on September 8 announced to introduce simple Punjabi in registration of land in the larger public interest. He said that it was the need of the hour to ensure that the general public can read and understand well the documents pertaining to their land. He said that this was the long pending demand of the general public too as they faced a lot of hardships in reading the language adding that most of the time they were duped also due to less knowledge of the language used by the Revenue department which was full of Urdu and Persian language.
The Minister said that the state government is duty bound to serve the people for which several path breaking initiatives have already been taken in the Revenue department. He said that the Patwaris have been recruited in a huge number to facilitate the people at village level. He said that the Revenue department is committed for the well being of the general public and no stone is being left unturned for this noble cause.
