Review Meeting of Estate Office, UT Chandigarh, Focuses on Timely Service Delivery and Accountability

A review meeting of the Estate Office, UT Chandigarh, was held at the UT Secretariat under the chairmanship of Diprava Lakra, IAS, Secretary, Estate. The meeting was attended by Nishant Kumar Yadav, Estate Officer, Joint Secretary Estate, Assistant Estate Officers and SDMs.
The working of the Estate Office was discussed in detail during the meeting.
Secretary Estate emphasised the critical need for timely service delivery by the Estate Office staff once a property owner submits their application. He stressed that delays in processing applications must be avoided and officials should work diligently to ensure prompt action. AEOs were instructed to closely monitor staff performance and ensure that applicants do not face unnecessary hardships. The Secretary further emphasized that if any employee is found to be negligent or responsible for unjustified delays, disciplinary action should be considered to maintain accountability and uphold the efficiency of the service.
It was further directed to monitor the recovery of dues pertaining to lease hold and other properties for system be formulated where in the messages should be sent to the owners of the properties for the timely deposit of their dues in the Estate Office.
Also the owners of all the properties are to be informed about the details of their property through an email or messages.
Special instructions were issued to expedite the pending digitization of records and processes to ensure transparency, efficiency, and convenience for the citizens.
All officers were directed to work proactively in resolving public grievances and to ensure timely disposal of pending cases.
