The Voice of Chandigarh
In a significant administrative reshuffle, Sakshi Sawhney, a 2014-batch IAS officer and the outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar, has been appointed as the new Chief Administrator of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA).

She takes over from Vishesh Sarangal, who has been reassigned as Special Secretary and Director of the Good Governance, Information and Technology Department, and also as Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab State E-Governance Society.
With her extensive experience in district administration, Sawhney is expected to inject new energy into GMADA’s urban development projects, accelerate key infrastructure initiatives, and enhance governance efficiency. Observers believe her appointment marks the beginning of a proactive and visionary phase for Punjab’s urban planning and real estate landscape.
A fresh face, new vision, and ambitious plans—GMADA under Sakshi Sawhney is set for transformation.
