“Samvedna Camp” Empowers Public Grievances Redressal in Chandigarh Police Stations
The Voice of Chandigarh:
In an effort to enhance public trust and streamline grievance handling, Chandigarh organized a “Samvedna Camp,” an Integrated Grievances Redressal mechanism across all police stations and Traffic Lines Sector-29. The initiative aimed to provide accessible and swift solutions for citizen concerns while promoting transparency and accountability in police operations.
From 10 AM to 2 PM, a total of 392 individuals visited various police stations and units, including Traffic Lines, during the camp. A remarkable 624 complaints were successfully resolved, highlighting the effectiveness of the Public Grievances Redressal Camp.
The campaign was meticulously supervised by SDPOs and concerned DSPs, who personally oversaw operations and engaged with complainants to ensure thorough resolution of issues. Each sub-division’s SDPOs dedicated significant time to review processes at local police stations, fostering a direct dialogue on complaint specifics.
Key outcomes of the camp included constructive interactions between police officials and the public, addressing a range of issues through direct feedback and issuing actionable directives to relevant police personnel and beat staff. Launched on 15.04.2023, the Samvedna Camp underscored its commitment to swiftly addressing and resolving public grievances, marking a proactive step towards community-focused policing in Chandigarh.
