The Action Points for next edition:

The session began with welcome remarks by Pallavi Mehra, who underlined the importance of proactive collaboration and on-ground feedback to refine the SATTE experience. While looking back to her 14-year journey with SATTE, she emphasised the importance of constructive dialogue and partnership in ensuring that upcoming edition at Yashobhoomi, not only grows in scale but also sets new benchmarks in visitor experience and operational efficiency.

“SATTE is a collective success; every partner, exhibitor, and stakeholder is integral to making the show world-class. The feedback from this evening will directly inform our roadmap for 2026,” she noted.

Representatives from Yashobhoomi (IICC) provided a detailed account of the infrastructural improvements already underway in response to the 2025 experience. They reiterated that the issues faced were not failures but learnings that came with the massive, unexpected surge in visitor footfall far exceeding projections.

“We were expecting around 3,500 concurrent visitors at a given time, but the numbers went well beyond that,” said Gupta, from IICC. “The overwhelming turnout was a positive challenge; it highlighted SATTE’s scale and India’s growing strength as a tourism marketplace. This demonstrated that attendance was strong and exceeded expectations. Our team has incorporated this as a key learning point. The attendance patterns and timing we experienced previously were different this time, and we have integrated these learnings into our planning process as we develop strategies moving forward.”

Yashobhoomi’s IT and infrastructure team has also confirmed that major upgrades are underway to ensure a seamless digital experience at SATTE 2026. These include enhanced Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity. More secured Wi-Fi zones will be available for those requiring dedicated access.

For the phone connectivity, in collaboration with major mobile service providers, the network bandwidth and frequency distribution within the venue are being upgraded. The Yashobhoomi team also urged the exhibitors to share all digital and internet requirements in advance to enable proactive setup and avoid on-ground bottlenecks.

Besides the new food courts and vending zones projected to be added, the venue will now also operate through three active entry gates to distribute vehicular load. Separate parking areas for exhibitors and visitors, new digital gate QR codes, and improved signages are also in discussion.

Stakeholder feedback:

Participants appreciated the initiative by Informa Markets to hold this focused dialogue well in advance of SATTE 2026. They also highlighted that the open, solutions-oriented discussions reflected the organisation’s seriousness in acting upon past challenges.

Stakeholders from the travel trade fraternity lauded SATTE’s global stature but urged for enhanced visitor convenience and faster entry management. Subhash Goyal, Founder & Chairman, STIC Travel Group appreciated Informa Markets’ professionalism and SATTE’s unique positioning as a truly international platform created in India for India.

“SATTE remains the only travel show of its scale in India that parallels WTM or ITB. Its strength lies in supporting small and medium tourism operators who cannot afford overseas exhibitions and can participate at SATTE in a very economical manner. That core must always remain,” highlighted Goyal.

To this, Mehra from SATTE reaffirmed that inclusivity remains a key SATTE value. She mentioned previous initiatives like the Kerala Lounge and Atithi Zone, which offer table-space participation and B2B networking access for SMEs at affordable costs. Plans are also in discussion to create dedicated zones for adventure tour operators and other niche segments.

Concluding with an informal networking dinner, the interactive evening successfully reaffirmed SATTE’s positioning as a collaborative ecosystem rather than just an exhibition. The open dialogue allowed partners to voice feedback, share expectations and witness the seriousness with which Informa Markets is working to create a world-class SATTE 2026 experience.
