Satya Pal Jain released the Book “Comprehending India: Varied Dimensions” written by Dr. Amneet Gill

A book titled ‘Comprehending India : Varied Dimensions’ edited by Dr. Amneet Gill, an academician and author, who teaches History in the Department of Evening Studies Multi- Disciplinary Research Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh was released by Satya Pal Jain, former Member of Parliament and additional Solicitor General of India on 8.8.22. An academic topper throughout ( double Gold Medalist), this is Dr. Amneet’s fifth book and she has to her credit 15 research papers published in various national and international journals of repute. She participated in a discussion on the topic, ‘Poverty and New World Order’ in Regent’s Park College, Oxford University, United Kingdom in May 2022.
As we gear up to celebrate 75 years of India’s independence in the form of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, this book presents eight themes offering relevant insights on significant aspects related to India.
The diversity of themes examined include the strength of the Indian value system amidst a crisis torn world, analysing the counter-insurgency campaigns in India, looking at the technological developments through an Indian perspective, studying the challenges and strategies of women in urban slums, exploring the inherent factors and emerging challenges in the Indian banking sector. Other themes delved in the book include comprehending Tagore’ nationalism, the Indian Cinema and constructing female subjectivity in popular Indian fiction.
