Skill Hub inaugurated and Blood Donation Camp organized at Government Polytechnic College, Rupnagar

Government Polytechnic College Rupnagar marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of the North India Skill Hub and the successful organization of a Blood Donation Camp on 19th February 2026. The North India Skill Hub was formally inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal, IAS, and Additional Deputy Commissioner Avikesh Gupta, PCS. This initiative is an important step towards equipping youth with employment-oriented skills and promoting social responsibility.
On this occasion, the leadership and support of Technical Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains were highly appreciated. The Blood Donation Camp, organized in collaboration with Civil Hospital Rupnagar, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff, who donated blood and conveyed a strong message of social service.
Dr. Navneet Walia, Principal of Government Polytechnic College Rupnagar, welcomed the distinguished guests and emphasized that such skill development programmes play a vital role in enhancing students’ employability and strengthening industry readiness.
Dr. Satish Garg, Founder President of Sri Sathya Sai Manav Seva Foundation, along with Trustee Advocate Amar Vivek Aggarwal, Vice Chairman Sanjay Pahwa, Vice President Dr. Puneet Malhotra, and Advocate Chaman Lal Pawar, were also present on the occasion and expressed their support for these initiatives. The Foundation also announced the establishment of a modern and free Skill Development Center at the college, in collaboration with the Punjab Government, to empower rural women and youth.
Under the Skill Hub initiative, the first batch of 40 students has commenced training in “Tally with GST,” which will help them build careers in accounting and taxation and improve their employment opportunities.
This initiative marks an important step towards empowering youth and enabling them to build a self-reliant and brighter future.
