SLSA and District Legal Services Authority, U.T., Chandigarh organizes Mega Legal Services Empowerment Camp in village Faida Nizampur Chandigarh

Under the directions of Hon’ble Ms. Justice Ritu Bahri, Judge Punjab and Haryana High Court -cum Chairperson SLSA, U.T. Chandigarh, District Legal Services Authority, U.T., Chandigarh organized Mega Legal Services Empowerment Camp in village Faida Nizampur, Chandigarh. The camp is follow up to door survey conducted by District Legal Services Authority U.T., Chandigarh & students of Panjab University Chandigarh in the month of December 2021. During the camp teams from the Department of Social Welfare, Department of Labour, Education Department, Department of Food Supply, Teams from Chandigarh Police, Women and Child Help Line 181, ChildLine 1098, Senior Citizen Helpline and Don Bosco Navjeevan Society participated in the camp.
An integrated Legal Aid Clinic was also set up in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority U.T., Chandigarh, Department of Labour, Department of Social Welfare, Department of Education and Child Protection Society. The clinic will function on all working days with different Departments providing services to the residents of village Faida Nizampur, Chandigarh.
Besides the clinic, Remedial Education and Women Empowerment Centre were inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Ritu Bahri. The centre was opened in collaboration with Don Bosco Navjeevan Society, and will provide a tuition facility for children and self help group services for women of village FaidaNizampur.
Speaking at the occasion Hon’ble Ms.Justice Ritu Bahri said “during the survey it was observed that no government building was present in village Faida Nizampur. Because of this residents of the area face difficulty in dealing with day to day issues. She further stated that the residents of Faida Nizampur will greatly benefit from the collaborative efforts of District Legal Services Authority U.T., Chandigarh, Department of Labour, Department of Social Welfare, Department of Education and Child Protection Society.
Almost around 2500 Residents of village Faida Nizampur out of which 300 persons had approached to the Adhar Card for their fresh enrolment and further on 500 person were assistance by the Labour Department, around 600 people have been provided information of various Pensions by Social Welfare Department.
Many of them had consulted various Doctors during the camp. Likewise almost around 900 residents have been catered by different Departments. Mrs Seema Rani w/o Manoj Kumar, Mrs Neelam w/o Subran(for Adhar-Card), Mrs. Aaradhana w/o .Ram Raj, Sanju w/o Surinder Kumar etc. (for Ration Card), Mrs Leela Devi w/o Dev Raj etc. (for old age pension) and Mrs. Santosh w/o Late Nareshetc.(for window pension),they had visited the camp stated that said that they were very thankful to Judge, Madam for bringing all department together and bringing them to village Faida Nizampur Jasbir Singh Laddi, Councillor said that resident of village Faida Nizampur and had been demanding for services by the Chandigarh Administration and now with the efforts of Hon’ble Ms. Justice Ritu Bahri the long standing needs of the residents will be fulfilled.
