State Level Programme of ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ organized at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh

A State Level Programme of ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ was organized at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh. The theme of this program was ‘Mitti ko naman, Veero ka Vandan’.
Banwarilal Purohit, Hon’ble Administrator, UT Chandigarh attended the State Level function as Chief Guest. The function was attended by officers of Chandigarh Administration, Municipal Corporation Councillors, school students, volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra and CRPF/BSF jawaanas.
The ceremony began with a welcome address by the Adviser, Dharam Pal. The Adviser said that this event marked a significant milestone as we continue this celebration of our heritage and our unsung heroes. It brought to light the heroic tales of our unsung heroes, rekindling our appreciation for the sacrifices made for the motherland. During the successful phase two of the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign, the soil was collected from every household in the Municipal Corporation (MC) ward. This soil, symbolically gathered in Amrit Kalash, represents the collective blessings and aspirations of our community.
The chief guest, Purohit said that it is a matter of pride and honor to participate in this campaign, ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’ which signifies the feelings of unity, patriotism and nation building. The “Kalash Yatra” campaign was organised throughout India 2023 under which the soil was collected from all parts of the country and mixed in an Amrit Kalash and now it is sent to Delhi where the National Level programme will be held. The Administrator recalled that a similar function was organized earlier also in August by Chandigarh Administration at Tiranga Park. He said that we are the sons of this motherland and must always be cherish its values and culture. Those who sacrifice their lives for the country never die, they rather become immortal and it is our duty to remind the new generation about the supreme sacrifice made by the brave. Purohit administered oath to everyone present during the function to serve the motherland, work hard towards nation building and always honor the brave hearts.
The function celebration proceeded with beautiful patriotic theme based cultural performances by students. Later, the Chief Guest and other officials plated saplings at the Tagore Theatre. Present during the function were Dr. Dharam Pal, Adviser to Administrator, Nitin Kumar Yadav, Vijay Namdeorao Zade, Finance Secretary, Anindita Mitra, Commissioner, MC Hari Kalikkat, Secretary Culture, Praveer Ranjan, DGP, T.C. Nautiyal, Chief Conservator Forest, Sorabh Arora, Director Cultural Affairs and other officials of Chandigarh Administration were also present.
