Sudden Police Reshuffle in Chandigarh: 8 Inspectors Shifted, Key SHOs Replaced

In an unexpected late-evening development, the Chandigarh Police has implemented a major internal reshuffle, transferring eight Inspectors and reassigning crucial field and specialized postings. Interestingly, no formal written transfer list was circulated, with directions conveyed internally through official communication channels.
Key Field Postings
The reshuffle brings changes to three important police stations — Sector 3, Sector 11, and Sector 49.

Inspector Sanjeev Kumar has been appointed as the new SHO of Sector 3 Police Station.
Inspector Jaspal Bhullar, previously serving in the District Crime Cell (DCC), now takes over as SHO of Sector 11 Police Station.
Inspector Sher Singh has been moved from the Proclaimed Offender (PO) Cell to head Sector 49 Police Station as SHO.
Meanwhile, Inspector Narinder Patial has been shifted from SHO Sector 3 to the Crime Branch.
Changes in Specialized Units
Inspector Ram Rattan has been given charge of the PO Cell and will additionally oversee responsibilities at the Police Lines. Inspector Davinder Singh has been appointed Incharge of the Cyber Crime unit, reflecting the department’s focus on tackling digital offences. Inspector Iram Rizvi has been transferred from the Cyber Cell to Police Headquarters, while Inspector Chiranjee Lal has been assigned charge of the DCC Cell.
Sources indicate that the restructuring is aimed at reinforcing crime control, strengthening cyber investigations, and improving operational efficiency at the police station level. The transfers take immediate effect, with further administrative adjustments not ruled out in the coming days.
