The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) National President, Mr. Sunil Kumar R, recently visited the Chandigarh Chapter as part of the association’s Members Connect Programme. During his visit, Sunil held a dynamic discussion with local members on important industry matters, focusing on the future growth of the travel and tourism sector.

One of the key topics of the discussion was integrating technology within the TAAI ecosystem. He introduced the concept of an online portal, envisioned as a “Master Engine” for all members. This innovative online platform will enable TAAI members to independently manage their businesses by logging into the portal, streamlining operations, and enhancing efficiency across the board.

Another significant development discussed was the creation of a DMC Connect feature, which will allow TAAI members to easily connect with the best Destination Management Companies (DMCs) in the industry. This initiative aims to simplify partnerships and foster business collaborations, enabling members to deliver superior client services.

Mr. Kumar also emphasized the need to attract the younger generation into the association and highlighted efforts to grow the membership base nationwide. Plans are underway to create additional TAAI chapters, expanding the reach and influence of the association across India.

The visit was warmly welcomed by the Chandigarh Chapter, with Chapter President Mr. Harraj Sidhu, along with office bearers Puneet Arora and Naveen Puri, extending a special greeting to Mr. Kumar. Sanjay Pahwa, Editor in Chief of TVC Global News Network also presented him with a memento in recognition of his leadership and commitment to the growth of the industry.

Important members, including Mukesh Sharma of Sandal Travels, Mohinder Bajaj of Bajaj Travels, Rajneesh Bansal of Paul Merchants Ltd., and Vinod Sharma of Venus Holiday Mart, were also present and honored during the meeting, contributing to the vibrant discussions.

This visit was part of TAAI’s ongoing preparations to celebrate 75 years of excellence (1951-2026) in the travel and tourism industry. The association remains committed to strengthening its member network, embracing technological advancements, and ensuring the continued success of India’s travel and tourism sector.
