Tapan Singhel, MD & CEO of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance has been honored with the title of Honorary Professor of Practice from Chandigarh University

Chandigarh University welcomed Mr. Tapan Singhel, MD & CEO of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, for a special ceremony to honor him with the title of Honorary Professor of Practice. Chandigarh University recognizes the importance of keeping abreast of business practices and drawing on the wealth of knowledge available from the business sector to maintain its position at the forefront of Indian higher education. The event was held in the presence of Professor (Dr.) R S Bawa, Pro-Chancellor of CU & Professor (Dr.) Anand Agrawal, Vice-Chancellor of CU. Various CU & Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Associates in Chandigarh University.
In acknowledgment of his superlative leadership, Mr. Tapan Singhel is a veteran of the insurance industry for more than 30 years, giving him a wealth of experience. He has been a part Bajaj Allianz General Insurance for over 20 years of which he was one of the founding employees and is the Company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for over 10 years now. In addition to that, he is the Chairman of the National Committee on Insurance and Pensions for the CII. He has served as President of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, and he is currently serving on their board of directors. Under his leadership and guidance, BAGIC has expanded to become one of the largest and most successful private general insurers in the nation, with a lion’s share of profits of the industry.
This remarkable accomplishment was celebrated during a beautifully executed ceremony, and it will have a profound impact on the celebrant’s future professional prospects. This position as Professor of Practice will allow Mr. Tapan Singhel to interact with the university’s student body and faculty to foster the application of classroom knowledge to real-world problems; in return, he has promised to provide students with “unparalleled support” to achieve their professional goals and “extended commendable assistance” along the way.
