Suvadhana Sibunruang, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), and Kaushik Ghosh, Head – Australasia, VFS Global, recently signed cooperation agreement under the project of e-Visa On Arrival (e-VOA) to facilitate its process for THAI and THAI Smile passengers holding passports of the People’s Republic of China, Republic of India, Taiwan Republic of China and 14 other countries. The airline’s passengers who wish to travel to Thailand and book air tickets on www.thaiairways.com or www.thaismileair.com will conveniently be redirected to apply for the e-Visa On Arrival on VFS Global’s website. The signing ceremony was also witnessed by Amar Rijhwani, Associate Head – Business Development, Australasia, VFS Global, Korakot Chatasingha, THAI Chief Commercial Officer, and Pol. Lt. Gen. Pakphompipat Sadjapan, Commissioner of Immigration Bureau.
The e-Visa On Arrival (e-VOA) platform aims to make it more convenient for THAI and THAI Smile passengers who hold passport of the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of India, Taiwan Republic of China, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Kingdom of Bhutan, the Republic of Cyprus, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the Republic of Fiji, the Republic of Georgia, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Malta, the United Mexican States, the Republic of Nauru, the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, Romania, the Republic of Uzbekistan or the Republic of Vanuatu. Passengers especially those travelling from Indian routes, which is a high potential market for THAI, will find it easier and faster to come to Thailand. The online booking process on THAI or THAI Smile websites will directly link passengers to VFS Global’s website to apply for Thailand e-VOA. The application process will be considered by the immigration bureau within 48 hours.
